volunteer your skills

volunteer_story_tellers

Story tellers

If you are photo-journalist, camera op or writer interested in a self-funded trip to Africa to document some of our projects please get in touch. A two week trip should cost no more than £1,500. The next trip is scheduled for May 2010. We also need the help of editors skilled in Final Cut Pro to help us cut the film when we get back home.

Fundraisers

Are you interested in organising a WalkAsOne (14km sponsored walk) or a BuskAsOne (busking to raise funds) in your community? Could you introduce us to your corporate social responsibility team at work? Or is running the marathon your thing? Find out more.

volunteer_designer

Designers

If you have experience with web or print design then please get in touch. We always need help with small projects for the website and currently need identities, flyers and posters for our 2010 fundraising campaigns. Find out more.

volunteer_intern

Virtual interns

Do you fancy doing a real project during your internship? Something that will raise money for schools in Africa and look great on your CV? Or you could make tea for a corporate like everyone else. Apply now.

volunteer_pr

PRs

Do you work in PR? Could you volunteer your time to help us get more coverage in the press, or persuade your company to work on a pro bono basis?

volunteer_developer

Web developers

We are interested in hearing from people with HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, Flash or JavaScript skills. If you have experience of the Smarty template engine that would be a bonus. The our current major project is turning these screenshots into reality. It’s 80% complete thanks to volunteers Ian, Bill and Ivan but more help (especially on the Smarty side) would be welcomed.

5 minute volunteering

If you only have 5 minutes to spare but still want to make a difference here a few things you can do. Join our Facebook group or donate your status for a day. Send out a tweet about us. Read about the day in the life of Saviour, a 10-year-old orphan, and tell someone about it at work.

Questions, comments, ideas?

Please feel free to leave a comment below or email Steve at [email protected] if you want to get involved or have any questions. Thank you!

Hi there, i have a very strong interest in writing. I have however abandoned this passion due to circumstances.I would do anything to get me into this field again and i don’t mind giving a bit of this via volunteering. Please give me some feedback as to where to kick start this. It might also be important to spend a few minutes on my blog where i have managed to spare some time writing. Waiting to read from you.

Hi,
I just wanted to tell you how impressed I am from your work in Simakakata. I did a voluntary social year in Kalomo and became very good friends with Edwin, one of the teachers there. He showed me the school in Simakakata during my last visit two months ago, so I’ve seen with my own eyes how important a new school is. I now found your webside “by accident” and I think you are doing a great job! Thanks so much!
I’m sorry, I can’t offer you a lot, but I’ll defenetely tell my surrounding about your work!
