Organising a 14km sponsored walk. What does it involve?

Your work can be as small or large as you like. A handful of friends, your department at work or an entire sixth form. Whatever suits you best.

Here is an overview of what organising a walk involves:

  1. Pick a date.
  2. Plan the route. (For large walks you’ll need to do a risk assessment.)
  3. Promote your event and sign up the walkers.
  4. Get everyone fundraising.
  5. Walk!
  6. See the results of your work.

That’s all there is to it!

Have a classroom or teacher’s house named after you

If your walk raises £5,700 then it’s possible to have a building named after you. Either as a group or a prize for your top fundraiser.

If this amount is out of reach then feel free to team up with other groups, universities or schools in your area so you can reach the target.
