Make a donation
The raw materials for a classroom or a teachers' house in Zambia cost around £6,500. The community do the rest. Each building needs around 20,000 bricks. The community make them by hand. And they donate their labour to carry out all the construction work too. They just need a little help to buy the roofing sheets, cement and windows they can't afford. Your donation will help to transform lives forever.

Donate to Simakakata Community School, Zambia
When we first met the George, the headmaster of Simakakata Community School he showed us the 60,000 bricks the community had made by hand and introduced us to local builders who offered to build the school for free. But they couldn't afford the raw materials such as cement and timber.
Thanks to your donations the community are now building their fourth classroom. They need two further classrooms and six teachers' houses. Please help to buy the raw materials they need.

Fund a classroom or teachers' house | £6,500
It costs £6,500 to buy the raw materials for a classroom or teachers' house. Around 30 children can be taught in a classroom, and in Zambia the government provides a trained teacher for free if they have a place to live.
If you would like to fund a building please email our founder Steve - steve at learnasone dot org - with your contact details. You can fund individually, or as part of a group / company. We'll share photos and stories from your building and you can have it named in your honour if you so wish.
